Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Baggage Trace (“Baggage Trace,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Baggage Trace mobile application and the website at baggagetrace.online.

Privacy-first design: Baggage Trace does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or use your passenger, journey, suitcase, tracking-number, or photograph data. This information is stored locally on your device. The app prepares it so that you can quickly and deliberately share a missing-baggage dossier with an airline or another recipient when you need help recovering your suitcase.

1. Information you choose to store

The app allows you to enter or save:

This content remains on your device. Baggage Trace has no user-account database and does not receive a copy. When a suitcase is delayed or missing, you can choose to share the locally stored details and photographs with an airline, baggage desk, insurer, email application, or another recipient. That user-controlled sharing function is a core purpose of the app.

2. Camera and photo-library access

With your permission, Baggage Trace accesses the camera or selected photo-library items so you can record suitcase photographs and scan a baggage label. Image processing used to identify a possible baggage number is performed by Apple frameworks on the device. You can change camera and photo permissions in iOS Settings.

3. User-controlled sharing with airlines

A core function of Baggage Trace is to keep your baggage evidence ready for use. When you tap the sharing button, the app prepares the selected passenger and journey details, suitcase description, suitcase photographs, tracking number, and baggage-label image from local device storage. The standard iOS share sheet then lets you choose an airline, email application, baggage service, insurer, or another recipient.

Baggage Trace does not automatically upload or send this dossier. Nothing leaves your device until you select an external application or service and confirm the action. After you share or submit the information, the chosen airline, email provider, messaging service, storage provider, or other recipient processes it under its own privacy policy.

4. Airline and third-party websites

Baggage Trace can open airline, baggage-recovery, alliance, and service-provider websites. Information entered into those sites is transmitted directly to the applicable third party and is governed by that party’s terms and privacy policy. Baggage Trace does not control those services.

5. Purchases

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive your full payment-card details. Apple may provide transaction and entitlement information needed to unlock purchased functionality. Apple handles that information according to its own privacy policy.

6. Website technical data

Our hosting provider may automatically process standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, date and time, and security events, to deliver and protect the website. We do not use the website to collect passenger, suitcase, or journey records. If analytics or cookies are added in the future, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated first.

7. Support communications

If you contact support@baggagetrace.online, we receive the information you include in your message. We use it to answer your request, maintain security, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Support messages are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.

8. Retention and deletion

You control locally stored app information. You can remove journeys and suitcases within the app, edit passenger profiles, or delete the app to remove its local data. Device backups may retain data according to your backup provider’s settings. To request deletion of a support conversation, contact us at the address below.

9. Security

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service. However, no device, transmission, or storage method is completely secure. Protect your device with a passcode and avoid sharing baggage documentation with recipients who do not need it.

10. Children

Baggage Trace is not directed to children under 13. A parent or legal guardian should manage any information relating to a child traveller.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing and to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. Most app information is held only on your device and can be managed directly there. For support or website-related requests, email us.

12. International processing

External airline services, email providers, Apple, and website-hosting providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their respective policies explain their safeguards and processing locations.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app, website, or law. We will publish the revised policy here and change the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated within the app when appropriate.
